GlobalFN offers all Professional Facilitators the opportunity to undertake an independent assessment of their Facilitation Skills. Certification provides Professional Facilitators with not only a check on their skills but provides potential clients with evidence of the professional status of the Facilitator. The process used by GlobalFN is fully independent and has been used to assess Professional Facilitators since 1998. This process has now been made available to GlobalFN to use on an exclusive basis.

This proven approach to certification provides a valuable assessment of the core competencies of Group Process Facilitation for anyone intending to operate a Professional Facilitator This is not just another set of letters for your CV or another piece of paper but a real demonstration of your commitment to operating as a Professional Facilitator.

"Accreditation was a unique and fulfilling experience. Not only did it allow me to gain a recognised and respected qualification but the process itself enabled me to really think about where I am in terms of my learning and growth as a facilitator, and where I will continue to improve. Spending a whole day with other experienced facilitators, sharing ideas, views and techniques was a rare and invaluable experience - I recommend it." Eva Gaulton McKesson

"Facilitation is a lonely job. Sometimes workshop participants will appreciate how you've helped them, other times you've done it so well they think they did it all on their own. I find facilitators are their own worst critics, so it's good to be given feedback on your ability and to be recognised by your peers as capable of doing the job. That's what the certification process gives you: recognition, confidence, useful feedback and the opportunity to see some other facilitators in action and to see how they work." Kevin Barron Xansa

Following a successful application and assessment you will:

  • Receive a certificate recognising your achievement as a Certified Facilitator.
  • Have tested your facilitation skills against a set of professionally developed competencies that are recognised by your peers.
  • Have received personal and confidential feedback from independent professionals.
  • Have joined a respected and developing group of professional facilitators worldwide
  • The process begins with candidates making an application to GlobalFN and submitting a Synopsis and CV covering their facilitation experience in group meetings and workshops. Download the Candidate Guidelines here and the Application Form here

Two Accredited Assessors are then assigned to each candidate to cover the whole process. These assessors test the Synopsis and competencies. If they are successful, candidates are invited to a full day Assessment Centre for the further testing of their skills against the competencies. This day consists of each candidate having:

    • An Initial Interview by his/her assigned assessors to explore and test their application further.
    • A Practical Workshop on a pre-selected issue. This part of the process involves not only the candidates’ assessors, but also other independent assessors and is designed to enable an assessment to be made of the candidates practical capabilities.
    • A Final Interview and feedback session with the assigned assessors after which candidates will be informed of the outcome of their application for Certification.
