To ensure that Certified Facilitators remain up to date with their Facilitation skills there is a Re-Certification Programme which all Certified Facilitators must undertake at the end of a 3-year period in order to retain their status as a Certified Facilitator.

The Re-Certification Process is based on the same format as the initial Certification Process and uses the same Competency Framework/Evidence Based approach. The key difference is that the process is based on a documentary submission and interview only. There is not the opportunity to directly assess practical capability as in a workshop setting although alternative approaches are possible within the process.

The Re-Certification Process
1. The GlobalFN Certification Co-ordinator notifies individual CF's of impending lapse of certification.
2. The candidate prepares and submits re-certification application documents and pays the fee.
3. Two assessors are appointed to review the documentary submission
4. If the candidate's submission is successful - one assessor conducts a telephone interview of that candidate and makes the pass/defer decision.
5. The GlobalFN Certification Co-ordinator processes the result as per the normal Certification Process.

Re-Certification must take place within 6 months from the date of expiry of the 3-year certification period. If an application for re-certification is not submitted within the 6-month period your name will be removed from the CF list held by GlobalFN and from the Certified as Facilitators page on the website. The Facilitator will no longer be able to use the title 'Certified Facilitator'.
